Meet Tanya Rose,

                                      "To Me, Flowers are Happiness!"

Hello,

My name is Tanya Rose, the Owner of "Rose Cottage Creations". I am a multi "Award Winning" creative Floral Designer with a true passion & love of all things nature has to offer- flowers & animals- particularly my beautiful Border Collie family!!  Bathurst Region is my home & I am blessed to be living my dreams on the land here. Being surrounded by trees, cows & sheep, plus the bonus of having mountain views all around me inspires my creativity daily. Photography is my hobby & I could loose myself for hours in Autumn Trees or gazing at the Sunset.

Growing up my Beautiful Gran lived in England & visited us here in Australia every 3 years for months at a time. She always had knitting needles in hand to teach us & took me out into the garden to pick flowers to decorate the table. She fostered my love of flowers & working with my hands. To this day Sweet Peas are my sentimental favourite flowers. Their smell takes me back into the garden with my Gran & reminds me of her warmth, love & smile.

By the time I was 12yrs old I was eager to explore flowers more & enrolled in a Local Evening College Course. I would turn up in my school uniform with all the other "adults" & have the best time "playing" with flowers!!! At 14yrs I got my first Saturday florist job & then left school at 17yrs to work full time in a Florist.
When I was 19yrs the perfect shopfront became available where I grew up in Narrabeen on the Northern Beaches & I couldn't resist!!. I opened "Enchanted Rose" in Dec 1991 & built up a thriving business that won multiple "Business", "Young Achiever" & "Bridal Industry" Awards over an 8 year period. I sold in Dec 1999 to start a family. During this period I created the florals for over 1000 weddings, working on up to 10 weddings a weekend with my fabulous support team!!!
One of my biggest clients was "Jonahs" restaurant, Whale Beach which I did weekly flowers for as well as their wedding work. (You will find a testimonial on the "Happy Brides" page.)
The 90's was big & bold & saw weddings & wedding flowers move on from a very traditional style to a much more casual, relaxed style & paved the way for the modern bride!

2 beautiful boys later, in 2003, I relocated to the Central Coast where "Angel Blooms" Wedding Floristry was born out of a home based studio & grew along side my children at just as fast a pace!

For 12 years I got to call this beautiful location home & worked on weddings all over the Central Coast & Hunter Valley, while gaining more "Industry Recognition" & "Bridal Industry Awards". I was so blessed to have the freedom to be able to create, while still being able to be home & bring up my children. My coolroom was full week to week with wedding work & flowers & laughter filled our home!! The tight posy was very much in style early 2000's, becoming more "rustic" closer to 2010 & you will see many examples of this in my Gallery.

In 2014 a random school holiday stay in beautiful Hartley Valley,   The Blue Mountains, changed our lives forever. It pulled at our hearts & we found a new place we felt at home. It was peaceful
& quite & after another 1500 odd weddings it was time for a break!!

In 2015 we relocated to The mountains & ended up at "Lavender Hill" a 100 acre property in the Valley. It had views, space, trees & lots of Tanya's favourite things to forage & harvest. "Lavender Hill Creations" was my new venture & I began with planting up hollow logs, making terrariums & harvesting the most beautiful lichen branches that covered the sth side of the property. I swapped out my snips for a chainsaw, we got a ride on mower & the fun began!! For 6 years I lived & worked off the land, making weekly trips back down to Sydney to wholesale goods at The Flower Markets & directly to shops in The Blue Mountains & Sydney.

The space also meant that I became a dog owner for the first time & discovered a deeper connection to animals than I ever imagined I could!!! Our family grew & grew & puppies came.
3 Border Collies later, life was very good!!! School finished for the boys, it was uni time & Bathurst called us for our next adventure!

The perfect place for us to call home, at the perfect time, seemed to appear out of nowhere & in 2021 we moved to the Bathurst Region. With an amazing work space for me, room for the dogs to roam, beautiful established gardens & close proximity to Bathurst, we feel so blessed to call "Rose Cottage" home!!

Over the last 3years I have been selling off the last of my "Lavender Hill Creations" stock & looking ahead to the future.
8mths ago I was contacted by a local florist who was looking for a florist for some casual work & my life changed!!!
Stepping back into a florist shop, being surrounded by the beauty & smell of the flowers & creating in this way again reignited something deep in my soul. I felt my inner child come back to life & realised how much I had missed the simple joy "playing with my flowers" brings to my heart & soul. I've found Sooo many new flowers, colours, textures & a beautiful change in style back to loose, natural bunches. My hands are tingling, the creative juices have been flowing & my desire to create beautiful weddings has taken over again!!

So here we are ......"Rose Cottage Creations"......
